Nighttime Eyewear - Blue Light Blocking Eyewear
At nighttime, the properly functioning brain begins producing melatonin, the hormone that makes you sleepy. Studies have proven that blue light has adverse effects on one's ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. It shuts down your brain's production of melatonin, making it harder to sleep.
The best way to solve this problem is to either remove the source of the blue light or block the blue light from your eyes during nighttime activities, which often involve large TV screens, monitors, tablets or even smartphones. All of these emit percentages of blue light higher than that of standard white light and other display devices. Since most of us don't want to change our nightly habits that much, wearing proper eyewear is a very straightforward and practical way to continue your activities while also helping you to fall asleep and stay asleep more easily.
BluGard nighttime eyewear not only comfortably dims your view, but has been laboratory tested to block 100% of blue light from your eyes, allowing your sleep-inducing melatonin to do its job properly. Alternatives use yellow lenses, which not only don't block all the blue light but brighten your view, which is not something you want when preparing for your nightly rest.
*BluGard Nighttime Eyewear are NOT ANSI Z87.1-2010 Certified and are therefore not recommended for use as industrial safety eyewear.
