These don't scratch easily. I thought the ones I had were damaged (after more than a full year of use), so I ordered more, but it was only dirt on the outside which came off. The full frame helps prevent liquid splashes as well as solid bits from bouncing into your eyes. I ordered replacements, so of course I would recommend these to a friend! Only downside, after 1 year the rubber earpiece padding is stretching, fraying, and falling off, but they're still comfortable with just the lightweight plastic arms, or I could tape them up myself.
